Heart of the Heroine

Out Of Abaco, In To Florida
We’ve really enjoyed our 5 days fully exploring Elbow Cay and Hope Town. Normally we’re in and out the same day. Our marina at Hope Town Hideaways is a perfect quiet retreat. Hammocks strung between palm trees, lush landscaping and manicured lawns, and an outdoor shower enclosure under a huge tree, created a charm that guarantees our return.
But it’s time to point EUROPA north and backtrack through the islands with some new stops along the way. We’re only one of two boats that stop at the new posh development, Bakers Bay Club on the north end of Great Guana Cay. When completed, it will be the most upscale, and most expensive marina, golf course, and residential enclave in the Abacos. http://www.bakersbayclub.com
We had to stop again at Grand Cay and stock up on more giant stone crabs, and we were not dissappointed!
Unlike our inbound visit to a desserted Old Bahama Bay, our outbound visit found a full house resulting from a Marine Max Cruise In. Although we like spending time here, tomorrow’s weather forecast suggests a gentle crossing back to Florida; so we set the alarm for a pre-dawn wake up and hope for the best.
