We did encounter this paddle wheel boat leaving the dock…Bride and groom, wedding party was getting ready to happen.They picked the perfect day…sunny, warm, no real wind…a good day to be aboard and on the water…

It was hot…but we had a few sights we wanted to see…so grabbed the camera and off we went…only to be stumped by the roads and traffic…even with our fancy GPS phones we could see any way for pedestrians to cross that busy freeway to get to whe…

As we approached the Volunteer Landing Marina…we thought, gee, it doesn’t get more orange than this!!!

And just one more gorgeous set of cliffs…we thought these were cut more sideways…like the earth had exploded and pushed them out!!! and up!!!

And before we knew it  we arrived at the junction…French Broad River to the right of us, Holston to the left, and we're in the Tennessee…yep, the captain was grinning ear to ear…648 Miles on the Tennessee River…another check off the ol b…

Another antique boat in excellent shape…and they were swimming of the aft deck…we kept looking for that weird guy but it was a different boat

We zipped right by Knoxville to head to the Three Rivers junction…along the way we encountered these interesting aircraft…spending their delightful afternoon gliding the skies….we were glad to provide their view of the the river…. 

This ol’ train was rollin’ down the track…tooted loud and long at us…and what a toot it was!!! Now Floyd wants that horn!! Later on our walk up the hill to town we saw the old water tower…leaking away…but probably still used by the train. We ha…

And there are the reasons for the Orange-ness…Home of the Tennessee Volunteers…orange orange and more orange!!!!

There she blows!!!! Beautiful downtown Knoxville…don’t you know that it always looks better from a distance than to actually be in the streets. On a lovely Saturday afternoon there is hardly any boater traffic.
